Tara Sutaria Opts Out Of Shahid Kapoor’s Arjun Reddy Remake

After Batti Gul Aur Meter Chalu, Shahid Kapoor is set to roll out Arjun Reddy remake in October. The film, which will be directed by Sandeep Vanga had signed Karan Johar’s student, Tara Sutaria as the female lead. But looks like, time did not work in actress’ favour. According to recent reports, we have learnt that Tara has opted out of Reddy remake, courtesy her debut film, Student Of The Year 2.

Reportedly, Tara, who is currently shooting for SOTY 2, opposite Tiger Shroff and Ananya Panday, had to step out of the remake as her debut was pushed from November 23, 2018 to May 10, 2019, which means that Arjun Reddy remake makers would have to wait to release the film after 2019 June or July. Reports also suggest that now the makers are looking for a new female lead to step in Tara’s shoes.

A source close to the makers told Deccan Chronicle, “Eventually, the makers of the film and Tara’s managers amicably decided to part ways because of the delay caused. It is for this reason that the makers of the Arjun Reddy remake decided to let go of Tara and look for another actress. They have finalised a couple of options and will be announcing the name in the next few days.”

The producer of Arjun Reddy remake, Murad Khetan, also confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror stating, “Yes, it is true Tara is not a part of our film anymore. Our shoot is on schedule and we should be locking our leading lady in the next couple of days.” Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is busy with the new member in their family as Mira Rajput delivered their 2nd baby on September 5.
